Final fling before the ring

August 21, 2013

I'll start off with a disclaimer that the Cheeky Butler was totally the idea of the bridesmaids and I had absolutely nothing to do with organising the bare bummed chap who turned up to serve drinks...
So, moving on - there was Prosecco to start, which was very civilised, followed by Cosmopolitan and Mojito cocktails served in mini milk bottles. The cocktails came ready mixed from Funkin and they were great! All we had to do was decant into a jug and the butler went round topping up the bottles, so convenient, I definitely recommend you try these, beats all that faffing about that comes with mixing cocktails.

The dress code was summer frocks and I dressed to match one of the table cloths...

The girls organised everyone into two teams, gave each team toilet rolls, foil and some sellotape and we had to create a wedding dress in ten minutes - Oh the pressure of creating a work of art under such pressure was draining...

I felt that our creation had just the right mixture of texture and and pushed the boundaries of design but Sara did the judging and I think the wings might have swung it! The winning team with their chocolate medals. It's probably hard to believe but after the first five minutes it didn't seem in the least odd that there was a chap with no knickers walking about...isn't that odd!

Then it was dinner.

Cooked and served by the wonderful staff at Delizique; these girls were the nicest friendliest people ever, I can't praise them enough for their superb attitude and amazing service and the chef produced a gorgeous meal we all adored. Bravo Delizique!

Then there was a Mr and Mrs game for Sara with a forfeit of a shot of cocktail every time she got a question wrong. Luckily she knows a lot about Craig so the cocktails were kept to a minimum.

Not sure what Granny made of it all but she seemed to take it all in her stride.

Craig's mum and I managed to cope with it all probably due to the prosecco and cocktails and the wine and well done to Victoria for sourcing Robertson wine for the final fling for the future Mrs Robertson.

There were lots of photographs taken...

Cupcake favours that everyone forgot to take.

The girls all went clubbing afterwards and the mums and the granny went home but then the mums had more wine and then spent the next day texting each other and comparing hangovers... will we never learn!
Brilliant night nevertheless and it's onwards and upwards to the wedding now...

What a wonderful night. Great to see your mum joining in the fun. Still hate the fact that mum missed both the girls big day.........
When is the actual day?
You look great Fiona. Have a wonderful day when it comes, if I've not missed it.

What fun!! Thanks for letting us join in :) (I think I need to start taking notes about all these things - it'll be my turn in a few year's time, no doubt!)
